Position Overview
Are you organized, fun, energetic and outgoing? Come and be a part of the West Shore Parks & Recreation Society (WSPRS) team making birthday’s a success for families of the Westshore. The ideal candidate must have the ability to multi-task, communicate with parents, staff, and children in a friendly and effective manner, and should possess independent judgment and demonstrate initiative in resolving problems. The Host provides an energetic, creative, and fun atmosphere for participants in a safe and healthy environment. We also offer our dedicated staff a free facility pass for drop-in use of the weight room, fitness classes, pool, skating rink and the ability to play a round of golf on our 9-hole course.
Job Duties & Accountabilities
- This position is responsible for ensuring multiple birthday parties are supported and provide excellent customer service to each group.
- Must be able to adapt to new and changing situations and people with tact and diplomacy.
- Imaginative and flexible personality required to ensure a fun environment for participants.
- Be able to problem-solve, prioritize, and work with other people to seek solutions
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with preschool and school aged children in a recreation setting or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience with communication, customer service, and public relations experience.
- Demonstrated experience multi tasking, with strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Emergency First Aid certificate and CPR level C.
- Ability to problem-solve, work independently, and seek solutions.
- Ability to work as an effective WSPR team member with the ability to work with other departments for support.
- Ability to follow established safe and healthy standards.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have post-secondary training in recreation, youth, childcare or a related discipline.
