SUMMARY: West Shore Parks & Recreation is looking for exceptional staff to deliver exciting recreation opportunities to the children and youth of the Westshore. Events encourage participants to cultivate friendships and experience a wide variety of activities, while developing lifetime skills.
Within this diverse role, there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to participate in program organization, planning, implementing, and evaluation. This auxiliary position will include: StoryWalk Wednesdays, Neighborhood Nights, outdoor movies, and community special events. This role will have the opportunity to expand into other areas as West Shore Parks & Recreation continues to expand program operations and instructional opportunities may arise. In addition to good wages, we offer an additional 14% in pay, per hour, in lieu of benefits; access to counseling; a staff facility pass to drop into the weightroom, fitness classes, skating, and pool; as well as the ability to play on our 9-hole golf course.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C/AED is required prior to commencing employment.
- Previous experience leading programs is required.
- Preference will be given to those applicants who have some post-secondary training in recreation, youth, childcare or a related field.
- CLASS 4* unrestricted drivers’ licence is an asset.
A clear and current criminal record check is a condition of employment and is the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
