Position Overview
Are you looking for an excellent paying, part-time job, with loads of enrichment and satisfaction working with children providing an amazing afterschool care program in the Westshore? Look no further, West Shore Parks & Recreation Society (WSPRS) is seeking Afterschool Care Inclusion Leaders!
The position will be directly responsible for facilitating and integrating a child/children with additional physical, behavioral, or developmental support requirements into the afterschool care program.

Job Duties and Accountabilities
- Facilitate participation and adapt activities as required for a child requiring one-on-one support.
- Encourage independence where appropriate and assist in developing child's self-confidence.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationshps with partents, children, colleagues and staff from the Queen Alexandra Foundation.
- Responsible for completing any necessary written documentation of the child's progress and part of thei designates care plan.
- Assist instructor with developing and coordinating the weekly program schedule to promote social experiences.
- Promote and deliver safe, healthy, positive interactions, communications, diversity, and learning opportunities.
- Promote and enhance creative ideas in all program areas such as arts & crafts, dramatic play, music appreciation, science and nature, and sports.
Qualifications
- As a licensed care program, candidates must be a minimum of 19 years of age.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or additional support needs as required.
- Minimum of 180 hours of experience working with school age children (aged 5-12 yrs) with disabilities and behaviour problems is required.
- 20 hours of proof of workshops/training courses.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as an effective team member.
- Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C/AED certification is required.
- CLASS 4* unrestricted driver's license is an asset.
