Position Overview
West Shore Parks & Recreation (WSPR) is looking for exceptional staff to deliver exciting recreation opportunities to the children and youth of the Westshore. Programs encourage participants to cultivate friendships and experience a wide variety of activities while developing lifetime skills. WSPR is looking for energetic, enthusiastic Program Leaders for youth programs. Under the direction of the Sport and Youth Programmer, Youth Program Leaders are responsible for the organization and implementation of a variety of programs including youth drop-in programs, youth sports programs, Home Alone courses, Cooking for Fun, Dungeons & Dragons and Board Game club, and Special Events.
Job Duties and Accountabilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to problem-solve and seek solutions.
- Ability to be imaginative and flexible to ensure all programs operate smoothly.
- Ability to follow established safety standards and requirements.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and public relations skills are required.
- Easy going, adaptable, and approachable personality.
Qualifications
- Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C/AED certificate is required.
- Current Criminal Record Check is required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to foster an environment that encourages participation.
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a team environment as well as independently.
