Position Overview
We're seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are passionate about health, fitness, and contributing to the well‑being of our community. Reporting to the Fitness Coordinator, the Weightroom Attendant is responsible for ensuring that patrons use the facility and equipment safely while adhering to established procedures and etiquette. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for all participants.

Job Duties & Accountabilities
- Assists patrons with proper equipment use and exercise technique.
- Answers questions while promoting health and fitness programs and services.
- Strong teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently when required.
- Opportunities to instruct weight training classes, small group training or personal training may be available based on organization needs and providing the candidate has the required training and experience.
Qualifications
- Current certification and registration BCRPA Weight Training, Personal Trainer or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Minimum one-year experience in a Weightroom setting.
- Current Emergency First Aid with CPR A/AED (CPR C recommended) certificate is required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills required.
- Demonstrated experience in public relations, enforcing policies and in dealing with difficult situations in a positive, courteous and effective manner.
- Ability to provide a safe, inclusive and healthy environment, which encourages participation for all members.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment, as well as to work independently.
- Must be positive, enthusiastic with the ability to lead and motivate participants.
- Prior experience in lesson planning is required.
