Position Overview
We're looking for outgoing, customer-service oriented individuals to work as a Senior Bartender. Under the supervision of the Arena and Event Leaders, the Senior Bartender is responsible for working independently while they prepare and serve beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and food products in the department’s licensed areas and banquet rooms.
In addition to great wages, we offer an additional 14% in pay, per hour, in lieu of benefits; access to counselling; a staff facility pass which provides drop-in access to the weightroom, fitness classes, skating, pool, as well as the ability to play on our 9-hole golf course.
Job Duties and Accountabilities
- Ensures safe handling of mixed drinks, prepackaged & tap beverages, while maintaining cleanliness & excellent customer service.
- Bar setup, take down, clean up and cash handling in the prescribed manner.
- Provides assistance with training new bartenders
- Follows Liquor Control and Licensing policies.
- May participate in the ordering of products and inventory.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ bartending experience in a high-volume bar or lounge; drink preparation, safe handling of beverages, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Must be of legal age and possess a “Serving it Right” certificate.
- A current/valid Food Safe certificate is an asset.
- Experience with cash handling and deposits.
- Must be able to lift 30lbs on a regular basis, and 50lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work well under pressure with high energy and self-motivation is required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; proven ability to defuse tense situations with positive outcomes.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment with the ability to problem solve independently.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment, as well as independently.
