Position Overview
We're seeking energetic Line Cooks to work in The Q Centre Arena concession supporting Grizzles games, Shamrocks games, and special events. The Line Cook prepares high quality food items while delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is a motivated and a team player.
In addition to great wages, employees receive access to counselling, and a staff facility pass, which provides drop-in use of the weightroom, fitness classes, skating, the pool and our 9-hole golf course.
Job Duties and Accountabilities
- Operates fryers and grills to prepare main menu items such as burgers, hot dogs, and fries.
- Prepares food items in accordance with established food safety policies and procedures.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Monitors food and supply inventory levels and identifies when items are running low; communicates need for order to supervisor.
- Assists with placing and organizing food and supply orders under the direction or guidance of a supervisor.
- Assists in the creation of cost-effective menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Two years as a line cook.
- Successful completion of Food Safe certification is required.
- Experience in creating menu items, and training and leading staff in food preparation.
- Experience with monitoring inventory and placing supply orders.
- Ability to adapt, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while communicating effectively and maintaining excellent customer service.
- Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license is an asset.
- A culinary diploma and/or certificate is considered an asset.
